New eco16 filter app for efficient filter selection according to ISO 16890
MANN+HUMMEL presents a new sales tool at the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt: the eco16 filter app for air filters in HVAC systems. The tool facilitates and optimizes the filter selection and offers customers the correct balance between filtration efficiency and energy consumption for a defined indoor air quality. Thus, it helps to reduce the customer’s total cost of ownership.
Ludwigsburg / Sprockhövel, 11.03.2019 – MANN+HUMMEL presents a new sales tool at the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt: the eco16 filter app for air filters in HVAC systems. It is the first system on the market based on the ISO 16890 standard. It shows customers the actual indoor air quality that a given filtration efficiency will achieve at their location. The tool also calculates the energy consumption for the proposed filters and improves filter selection to deliver the best possible balance between filtration efficiency and energy consumption for a defined level of indoor air quality.
The MANN+HUMMEL eco 16 app, based on the patented filter selection system known on the market as eco16, determines the correct filter class for the target application. It also predicts the indoor air quality based on local ambient outdoor air quality. In doing so, MANN+HUMMEL enables customers to reduce energy costs and therefore the total cost of ownership. Calculations can be made for a range of commercial applications including offices, stores, residential buildings, warehouses and public buildings. Customers can contact their local MANN+HUMMEL sales office for a customized calculation.
The calculator app is the result of many years of experience analyzing indoor air quality, as well as nearly 100 years spent in the filtration business. In fact, the new ISO 16890 standard is based on proposals that the company’s Swedish development department first submitted back in 2009. MANN+HUMMEL is one of five original members of the Eurovent certification programme for HVAC air filters and serves on various standardization committees, including ISO, CEN and national mirror committees for HVAC.
