Below is a selection of case studies on some key issues within the air filtration industry produced by our in-house experts.
Reducing HVAC workload by 80% at an automotive manufacturer
An inefficient HVAC system can quickly become a major headache — especially in a large facility such as an automotive plant. A leading car manufacturer had an HVAC system that required all-too-frequent servicing just to deliver poor air quality.
They contacted the MANN+HUMMEL Intelligent Air Solutions team for help. After we had finished, on-site workload was cut dramatically and PM2.5 air pollution was nearly 70% lower.
Cutting HVAC energy consumption by 63%
Reducing energy usage is a central aim to virtually all businesses, big or small. A mail centre in West London was experiencing high energy consumption from its HVAC system, so its facilities management partner asked MANN+HUMMEL to investigate. Using our eco16 program, we analyzed operating environment and swapped out the old filters with our own, low-energy air filters. With the new filter system in place, HVAC energy consumption was cut by 63% without compromising air flow volumes.
Energy savings take off at a leading airport
It's one of the busiest airports in the world and strives for the highest standards. Unfortunately, its HVAC air delivery system was not meeting this, with high energy consumption and regular maintenance requirements. The MANN+HUMMEL team used our patented eco16 program to devise a new HVAC filter system for the airport’s Terminal 2 building. The result was a reduction in HVAC energy consumption of 28% and a cut in workload of 85%.
White Paper: Calculating the cost of HVAC air filters
With all the different factors affecting installation, energy consumption, maintenance and disposal, just how do you calculate the total cost associated with operating an HVAC air filter? Thomas Carlsson, R&D Director at MANN+HUMMEL’s Swedish research facility investigates.
White Paper: Electrostatic charge and synthetic bag filters
There’s a lot written about synthetic air filters and their electrostatic charge – unfortunately much of it biased or incorrect. Our white paper explains the role that electrostatic charge plays in filtration and dispels the common myths.
